Nance went undrafted out of North Carolina in 2023 and spent part of his rookie year with the Cavaliers. He later played on a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers during portions of the 2024–25 season. The Bucks signed him to a two-year, two-way contract in February 2025 after he was waived by Philadelphia.
In the 2025–26 season, Nance appeared in 47 games for Milwaukee, averaging 5.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 15.7 minutes per game. He shot 51.5% from the field and 42.0% from three-point range, while attempting 11 free throws across 737 total minutes, making four (36.4%).
Milwaukee promoted Nance from a two-way contract to a standard multiyear deal in March, but his $2.5 million salary for the 2026–27 season remained non-guaranteed until a recent date. By waiving him, the team will not be obligated to that guaranteed money.
This week, Nance was listed on Milwaukee’s Summer League roster, suggesting he may still be part of the organization’s plans. It’s possible the Bucks chose to avoid locking in his full guarantee for now while keeping the option to re-sign him later. He remains eligible to play on a two-way deal for one more season.
