The reigning First-Team All-Pro running back delivered a standout season, rushing for a career-high 1,478 yards and adding 79 receptions for 820 receiving yards. His 2,298 scrimmage yards are the most by a Falcons player in a single season and rank 12th in NFL history for a single season.
Despite Robinson’s personal excellence, the Falcons have not posted a winning season or made the playoffs since his arrival in 2023. They finished 8-9 in each of the last two campaigns and were 7-10 in 2023. After a Week 1 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta enters Week 2 with the other NFC South teams also having dropped Week 1 results, effectively starting the season from scratch as they prepare to face the division-champion Carolina Panthers.
When asked about the key to winning the NFC South for the first time in his career, Robinson emphasized the importance of focusing on one game at a time.
“One game at a time,” Robinson said in a focused interview on what it will take to win the division. “I think what trips people up is they look past the division. They think they must win the division right away. But you have to play every game within the division. You’ll have two games against each team, and each game may present a different challenge. You have to be thoroughly prepared for every game because every game matters.”
Robinson noted that while division games carry extra weight, every matchup still counts, and maintaining momentum is crucial as the team approaches the next tests. “Obviously, division games matter a lot, but then every game matters as well, even for players not in the division,” he said. “So I think keeping that rhythm going into these games is the biggest factor—focusing on one division game at a time and not looking ahead.”
Falcons had a tough opening clash against the Steelers, with third-string quarterback Cooper Rush starting due to a late injury to the usual starter. Rush, who has experience as a starter, completed 143 passing yards with one touchdown and two interceptions in that game. He has a history of steady veteran leadership, including a notable stretch with the Dallas Cowboys in 2022.
Atlanta finished the previous season on a four-game winning streak, claiming victories over the Los Angeles Rams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New Orleans Saints, among others. The team will look to carry that late-season momentum forward with Rush at the helm as they aim for their first win of the current campaign.
Off the field, Bijan Robinson has expanded his brand through a partnership with SONIC for the 2026 NFL season, aligning with fellow division rival Baker Mayfield in promoting a new $7 Meal Deal. The campaign features Robinson in ads wearing the No. 7 jersey, highlighting a combo meal that includes a cheeseburger, fries or tots, a sundae, and a drink. Robinson spoke highly of the collaboration, noting his personal affinity for SONIC and the appeal of the “7” branding.
In the interviews, Robinson shared his enjoyment of appearing in commercials and the positive reception from fans and family. He described his go-to SONIC selections as the strawberry sundae, chili dog, double cheeseburger, strawberry limeade, and tots, and expressed openness to future advertising opportunities.
With a combination of elite on-field production and growing brand presence, Robinson remains central to the Falcons’ hopes of contending in a competitive NFC South. The team will rely on his versatility and leadership as they navigate a schedule that could set the tone for their path to a first division title in Robinson’s tenure.
