Milton was traded to Dallas in April 2025, as part of a deal that sent the No. 217 selection to New England in exchange for the No. 171 pick. Dallas acquired him as a developmental backup behind Dak Prescott. He appeared in four regular-season games during the 2025 campaign, completing 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions, and he added 50 rushing yards on five attempts. The arm talent resurfaced in the 2026 preseason, where he completed 9 of 13 passes for 179 yards and two touchdowns against the Arizona Cardinals, including a 53-yard touchdown. Reports at the time suggested he was separating himself in the competition for Dallas’ No. 2 quarterback job. Ultimately, he was waived after the preseason and later returned to the Cowboys’ practice squad.
Milton’s latest move brings him to an expanded quarterback room with the Philadelphia Eagles, who added him off the Cowboys’ practice squad to bolster depth at the position. The move comes amid Jalen Hurts being sidelined by a superficial blood clot in his calf, which left Tanner McKee in line to start in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers.
Milton has not yet established himself as a permanent backup, but his development remains a point of interest due to his exceptional physical tools and potential upside. The NFL landscape continues to watch whether his elite arm strength and athletic profile can translate into sustained performance at the NFL level.
