The NFL announced that Josh Jacobs, the Green Bay Packers running back, will be removed from the Commissioner Exempt List on October 19. He will be eligible to play in the Packers’ Week 7 game on October 25 after missing six games. The league’s statement follows investigations under the Personal Conduct Policy that began after Jacobs’ May arrest. The review is ongoing and is not affected by this change to his roster status. Jacobs had been on the Commissioner Exempt List since August 30 and will be allowed to practice at Lambeau Field starting Friday, but cannot participate in Week 6 until the roster change is official on Monday, October 19.
If Jacobs suits up for Week 7, he is projected to play against the Detroit Lions. Without Jacobs, the Packers have struggled on the ground, ranking near the bottom of the league in rushing offense through the first five weeks, averaging around 60 yards per game. This marks a significant drop from last season, when the team averaged about 119 rushing yards per game with Jacobs contributing as a top back.
