Injuries at practice grew more pronounced when offensive tackle Blake Miller, the Lions’ first-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft, was unavailable for Monday’s practice. The Lions also added a new name to the Injured List after Tuesday’s session.
The Lions announced that cornerback DJ Reed has been placed on the injured list due to a foot injury. Reed is in his second season with Detroit, after signing a three-year contract prior to last season. He played eight games in 2025 before his latest setback. In addition, Christian Mahogany, who left Sunday’s game and did not participate in Monday’s practice, did not practice on Tuesday.
DJ Reed is entering his second year with the Lions after being selected in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Kansas State. He previously spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and also attended Cerritos and Fresno State.
As the Lions prepare for the short week, the roster moves and injuries will be closely watched to determine depth and available options for Thursday’s matchup against the Bills. The team will aim to have as many players as possible healthy and ready to compete on a quick turnaround after Week 1’s high-stakes victory.
