Jones, selected with the 38th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, became a free agent after the Chicago Bulls waived him earlier this week. He was part of a draft-night trade in which the Bulls sent the 38th pick to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Braden Smith.
During the 2024-25 season, Jones appeared in 37 games for Indiana, averaging 3.2 assists against 1.0 turnover in 16.6 minutes per game. While he showed playmaking potential, his outside shooting and overall efficiency remained areas for improvement. Jones’ rookie season had been delayed due to a back injury, with his debut coming in mid-December.
Because Jones wasn’t claimed off waivers, the Bulls still hold a partial guarantee on his contract, valued at $1,075,459.
Joining the Bucks marks a homecoming for Jones, who spent four college seasons at Marquette University.
