College and pro evaluators highlighted Hutchings’ rare combination of size and athleticism. Bruce Feldman once included him on his annual “Freaks List,” underscoring a profile of strength and speed, even at a lighter frame for a defensive lineman.
The Vikings’ decision to part ways with Hutchings comes as the team finalizes its post-free-agency and draft plans. With this release, Minnesota creates an additional roster opportunity ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft while Hutchings continues his career path, which has yet to lead back to an extended NFL stay.
