After an extended impasse, reports indicated the 49ers submitted a revised contract in recent days, pushing the negotiation closer to closure and leaving open the possibility of a quick resolution depending on Williams’ comfort with the terms.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter later reported that the deal was finalized Monday morning, tying Williams to the 49ers through 2027 and keeping him among the league’s top-paid offensive linemen.
The extension places Williams as the fifth-highest paid offensive tackle on a per-year basis, with the contract including $37 million fully guaranteed and a $22 million signing bonus, according to Elite Loyalty Sports.
Williams, a 12-time Pro Bowler, arrived in San Francisco in 2020 via trade from Washington and has compiled Pro Bowl selections in five of his six seasons with the team.
The agreement ensures continuity on the 49ers’ offensive line ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft and provides veteran stability for a unit that has anchored San Francisco’s offense.
If confirmed by the terms reported, Williams would be among the highest-earning non-quarterbacks in NFL history, reflecting substantial career earnings and contract guarantees.
