Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane offered an update on Allen during the end-of-season press conference, noting that the quarterback might need a procedure on his foot but should be ready for the offseason program and OTAs. ESPN’s Adam Schefter relayed Beane’s message.
Allen carried multiple injuries into the postseason but never missed a playoff game. He completed 71.6 percent of his passes for 556 yards with four touchdowns and added 99 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, while dealing with foot, knee, and finger injuries, according to Buffalo’s final injury report.
The team indicated the foot issue originated in Week 16 against the Cleveland Browns and persisted into the first round of the playoffs against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Beane also revealed that Allen had the foot fixed during the interview process for Buffalo’s next head coach.
Since entering the league in 2018, Allen has started 127 games and accumulated 30,102 passing yards and 220 touchdowns on a 64% completion rate, along with 4,721 rushing yards and 79 rushing touchdowns.
As Brady moves into his role and the Bills prepare for the upcoming offseason program, Allen’s availability for OTAs remains a focal point. Buffalo will look to maintain the durability that has defined Allen’s eight-year tenure while continuing to build around him.
