ESPN’s NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported that Kubiak will meet with Las Vegas this weekend, after which the Raiders are expected to finalize their decision on their next head coach. A fellow candidate with the Raiders even suggested that “it’s probably Kubiak’s job to lose.”
Rumors have linked the Raiders with an offensive-minded head coach to pair with a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Fernando Mendoza. If so, Kubiak would fit the profile, having recently helped the Seahawks rank among the league’s highest-scoring offenses this season.
Kubiak, 38, brings playcalling experience to the table and has three stints as an NFL offensive coordinator. He has interviewed for six of the 10 NFL head coaching vacancies this offseason, including an earlier run with the Cardinals.
The Cardinals have pursued a range of candidates in their own search, but the Raiders could move quickly if Arizona does not secure their preferred option first. If Arizona beats Las Vegas to the punch, Kubiak’s candidacy with the Raiders may shift in another direction.
Overall, the Raiders’ head coaching search continues to cast a wide net as they weigh Kubiak and other candidates, with the interview stage signaling a near-term decision on who will lead the franchise.
