Udinski has a new deal in place with Jacksonville that would boost his pay next season, but the Jaguars are allowing him to continue pursuing the Bills’ HC opening. If Buffalo does not hire him, Udinski will return to his role as Jaguars OC.
NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah endorsed Udinski as a strong fit for Buffalo, noting that smart coaches in the league highly regard him and that he could be a good pairing with quarterback Josh Allen.
Because Buffalo fired head coach Sean McDermott, NFL interview rules allowed the Bills to visit candidates after teams were eliminated. That framework enables them to pursue Denver Broncos passing game coordinator Davis Webb, a former Bills backup quarterback who has emerged as a notable coaching name.
However, the Bills cannot yet meet with Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, as Seattle advanced to the Super Bowl and is not eliminated. This restriction narrows Buffalo’s options in the near term.
Buffalo’s coaching search remains open, with Udinski as the leading candidate but no certainty. The Bills are weighing offensive-minded options and fit for Josh Allen as they move through the offseason.
