Despite the attention surrounding her son, Donna spent Sunday supporting him at Arrowhead Stadium, reuniting with Taylor Swift and other family members for the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Donna addressed posts attributed to an X account with remarks about women’s appearances, including alleged 2010 posts such as, “As a man, you have something wrong with you if you’re going for girls that weigh more than you,” and another that read, “Why can’t girls hide their backfat? That s–t nasty.” The New York Times previously examined Travis’ old social media activity, citing fact-checking website Snopes in its reporting. Donna’s latest response directly disputed the account’s connection to her son.
Travis had previously acknowledged other resurfaced posts during a November 2023 episode of his “New Heights” podcast with Jason. He explained that he once treated the platform like a personal diary and discussed efforts to remove old posts from his account, noting, “What was I even doing in some of these tweets?” The Chiefs selected Travis in the 2013 NFL Draft, several years after the dates associated with the resurfaced posts.
Donna’s defense came shortly after Travis faced criticism for liking a social media post supporting comedian Shane Gillis’ October appearance on Saturday Night Live, where Gillis made remarks about women at the gym. A source close to Travis described him as a longtime fan of the show and said he was supporting a friend.
One day after speaking out, Donna attended the Chiefs’ matchup against the Chargers, sharing a moment with her daughter-in-law, Taylor Swift. Swift was spotted inside Kelce’s suite at Arrowhead Stadium and greeted Donna with a hug. The 36-year-old singer wore a red-toned outfit, while Donna wore a studded black denim jacket with a large “KC” logo. The suite also included WNBA star Caitlin Clark and singer Este Haim as they watched the Chiefs’ AFC West showdown. The game followed Kansas City’s Week 5 bye.
