Injury update
Doubs is believed to have sustained a left acromioclavicular (AC) joint sprain from the collision during the catch. He underwent X-rays to check for a possible clavicle fracture. If the scans come back negative, there is a possibility of returning to the game after receiving a numbing injection or a cortisone shot. However, this remains contingent on the medical evaluation and imaging results.
The timing of the injury was during the Patriots’ early first-quarter lead at 7-3 against the Jets. Officials will be watching closely to rule out a fracture and determine Doubs’ availability for the remainder of the contest. The team’s medical staff will base any final decision on imaging results and overall prognosis.
