Cooper Jr. led the Jets in receiving with six catches for 103 yards and notched his first career touchdown on a 48-yard reception from quarterback Geno Smith. Smith finished 20-for-30 for 252 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
After the game, Smith praised Cooper Jr. for his resilience and impact, noting that the young receiver fought hard to return from injury and has the ability to make difficult catches look routine. “He’s a playmaker. He finds ways to make catches, the tough catches … he makes them look easy,” Smith said.
Smith also addressed the overall offense, acknowledging that while there have been flashes of productivity, the unit has struggled with consistency. He believes the offense is still finding its footing, highlighting the youth of the group and the importance of getting players back healthy to help the team gain momentum.
