Stevenson is listed as out for the Week 6 game after suffering a hip injury that sidelined him in the second half of Week 5 against Green Bay. He practiced as a limited participant earlier in the week but remained designated as questionable, ultimately missing the contest. With Stevenson out, McCloud could be utilized in rotational roles, depending on how the Bears deploy their cornerbacks.
The Bears have relied on Stevenson as a starting perimeter corner, but plans for Week 6 may shift with the return of Kyler Gordon from the PUP list. Gordon is expected to be limited in snaps as he ramped back up, which could open additional opportunities for McCloud in the defensive perimeter rotation. Rookie Malik Muhammad has been filling the nickel spot and may transition to a perimeter role as Stevenson’s replacement, while also alternating back to the slot as needed to manage Gordon’s workload.
In addition to perimeter duties, McCloud could contribute on special teams as part of Chicago’s coverage units during the game.
