Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer acknowledged his appreciation for Parsons, but emphasized that he values the draft capital the team acquired in the deal even more. “Micah’s no longer here,” Schottenheimer said. “I’m looking forward to seeing him, but I like the picks that we got for Micah. I think we’ve done some really great things getting those picks, and I hope that when it’s all said and done, that goes to show it made a big difference—because I do feel that way. You take a look at the guys that we were able to add to our roster.”
In the Week 6 game, the Cowboys will deploy three players acquired in the Parsons trade. The trade involved Green Bay sending two first-round picks and Kenny Clark to Dallas for Parsons. Dallas converted one of the first-round picks into Malachi Lawrence, and used the other to land Quinnen Williams, effectively completing the full trade package.
Lawrence, a rookie who plays Parsons’ position, has 117 snaps thus far, with seven pressures and a sack. Williams leads Dallas’ interior defensive line in snaps with 13 pressures this season. Clark has logged 230 snaps this year.
Meanwhile, the Packers are awaiting Parsons’ return. Parsons suffered an ACL tear in Week 14 of the 2025 season and was projected to return after roughly nine months. The nine-month mark has passed, and Parsons has yet to practice. It is likely he would need a couple of weeks to regain full speed, which could push his return to Week 8 or later. If he returns in Week 8, Dallas would have extra rest between games; Week 9 remains the latest possible return, potentially keeping him out of the Week 6 Cowboys game.
Parsons did play against the Cowboys last season, a game that ended in a 40-40 tie. As the Cowboys prepare for Week 6, the focus centers on the continued impact of the trio acquired in the trade and the Packers’ timeline for Parsons’ return.
