Drake London Injury Update
London was added to the Falcons’ injury report on Friday and was listed as a limited participant in practice. The report cites a hip injury as the issue.
Is Drake London Playing This Week?
A positive sign for London is that the Falcons did not assign him an injury designation such as “questionable.” Not having a designation typically implies the team does not view the issue as a major one. However, a late-week addition can create ambiguity about when or how the injury occurred. A surprise limited practice could mean he sustained something during practice, which is a common concern, or it might reflect a managed approach to a nagging issue. If it were a significant problem, an updated designation would likely follow. As of now, barring a late change, this appears less concerning but remains suboptimal for a key receiver heading into a big game.
Falcons Injury Report
Several other items stood out on the Falcons’ injury report. Michael Penix Jr. practiced in full all week and is expected to start on Sunday against Chicago. Za’Darius Smith is listed as questionable with a neck injury, having limited practice on Wednesday, a non-practice day on Thursday, and limited practice again on Friday. C.J. Henderson was ruled out due to a groin injury after not practicing all week. Defenders Cameron Thomas and Kendal Daniels were upgraded to full participation from limited on Thursday. Conversely, LB Divine Deablo (hamstring) and OT Jake Matthews (groin) were downgraded to limited participation on Friday, though neither has an injury designation yet.
The Bears will also have their own updates to monitor, particularly quarterback Caleb Williams, who is trying to return this week from a hamstring injury.
