Head coach Andy Reid provided updates on two players whose availability was a focal point this week.
Rashee Rice and Josh Simmons will not play in the game against Los Angeles, per Reid (via a report from ESPN’s Nate Taylor).
Rice is dealing with a right hamstring injury suffered in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had established himself as a top target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes, recording 13 receptions for 190 yards and a touchdown over his first four games of the season.
Simmons is out with a bulging disc in his lower back. The 2025 first-round pick has yet to appear in a regular-season game this year after sustaining the injury in August 2025.
With Rice and Simmons sidelined, the Chiefs will lean on their depth at receiver and offensive line to fill the gaps. Xavier Worthy, Jalen Royals, and Cyrus Allen are among the receivers expected to contribute more, and the team recently added veteran wideout Justin Watson to its practice squad. On the offensive line, rookie Kahlil Benson has taken over at left tackle in Simmons’ absence, with Jaylon Moore also rotating in at tackle.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.
