Carlos Baleba is fully fit and ready to make his Manchester United debut this weekend if selected by manager Michael Carrick. The midfielder has recovered from an injury he sustained before the deal worth £65 million to sign him could be completed.
In a recent United podcast, Tielemans shared his positive impressions of Baleba, noting that the youngster has settled in quickly. “It’s early days, but he’s been great. He has some ex-teammates and national-team teammates with Bryan [Mbeumo],” Tielemans said. He added, “He’s a good young kid, and you can see his quality.”
Playing against Baleba, Tielemans observed that Baleba is strong on and off the ball, very technical, and powerful. He believes Baleba’s different profile will benefit the team.
A key challenge for Manchester United manager Carrick is how to integrate Baleba into the midfield. A balanced combination of Baleba and Tielemans could work well, though it might impact Kobbie Mainoo’s involvement if he is fit to start. Andrey Santos is another midfielder in the mix.
With six fixtures scheduled for the month, there will be opportunities to experiment with different combinations. However, it would be ideal to establish a winning formula quickly and maintain it for a few games.
