Harbaugh has coached at both the college and professional levels, including stints at Stanford, Michigan, the San Francisco 49ers, and now the Chargers. He began his head coaching career at Stanford in 2007 before moving to the NFL. This marks the first time in his career he has started a season 0-2.
Through two games, Justin Herbert has thrown three interceptions, and the offense has struggled to find consistency. The Chargers’ ground game has also been underwhelming, totaling 81 rushing yards against the Cardinals and improving slightly to 127 yards in the subsequent game versus the Raiders. Turnovers have compounded the issues, with six total fumbles by the team in the latest matchup, though only one was lost.
There is still time for adjustments, but the early 0-2 start has put the Chargers in a challenging position within the AFC West as they work to stabilize and turn the season around.
