As games approach, fantasy players are closely monitoring practice reports for some of the league’s biggest names. From quarterbacks to top pass-catchers, several players are dealing with injuries that could impact their availability and fantasy value in Week 2.
Joe Burrow expected to play, Brock Bowers remains uncertain
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow appears to be on track to play against the Houston Texans after dealing with back tightness following Cincinnati’s Week 1 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Burrow increased his activity at practice and, although he did not take significant throws during Wednesday’s session, spoke of getting mental reps and expressed confidence in his readiness for Week 2. His availability would be a welcomed development for fantasy managers who drafted him.
On the other side, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers remains a major concern. Bowers did not practice on Wednesday due to a meniscus injury. Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak labeled him day-to-day earlier in the week, but current reports suggest he is trending toward questionable status for Week 2.
Flowers, Tagovailoa face Week 2 uncertainty
Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Zay Flowers is another player whose status will be watched closely. Flowers missed Thursday’s practice while recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts.
Before leaving the game, Flowers delivered an explosive performance, posting 150 receiving yards and a touchdown in the first half. He subsequently missed two practices, leaving his Week 2 availability uncertain.
Meanwhile, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa remains day-to-day with an oblique injury that kept him from starting Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tagovailoa joined Atlanta after six seasons with the Miami Dolphins and was expected to be the team’s starting quarterback.
With Tagovailoa, Michael Penix Jr., and Cooper Rush all dealing with injury uncertainty, the Falcons’ Week 2 quarterback situation remains unclear.
Stay informed as Week 2 approaches, and adjust lineups accordingly based on the latest practice reports and official team updates.
