Jones joined Washington as an undrafted free agent after the 2025 NFL Draft. He spent the preseason with the club and began the regular season on the practice squad. He earned a brief chance to play on the active roster in November, debuting against the Miami Dolphins in Madrid, Spain. In that game, Jones recorded a 25-yard reception—the only catch of his NFL playing time to date. After the season, he signed a reserve/futures contract with Washington in January. He was waived with an injury designation during the final roster cutdown on August 30. With the injury settlement, Jones is now free to sign with any team once he is healthy, instead of remaining on the Commanders’ injured list for the season.
Jacobs, who spent the 2024 season with the New England Patriots after time with the Kansas City Chiefs, joined Washington for the 2025 offseason. He had previously played college football at Penn State and spent parts of his NFL career contributing primarily on special teams and depth roles. Moore, an undrafted rookie tight end, had spent the spring with Washington and previously played college football at Washington.
In addition to Jones, Jacobs, and Moore, the Commanders also cleared a path for other players on their roster through injury settlements, returning them to free agency. Jacobs’ and Moore’s departures add to the team’s ongoing efforts to manage injury funds and roster flexibility as they prepare for the season.
