Dallas has pursued Crosby previously and has been active in trade discussions with the Raiders. In earlier talks, Dallas explored multiple package options. At one point the Cowboys offered the No. 20 overall pick and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa. After Odighizuwa was traded to the San Francisco 49ers, Dallas returned with a more aggressive offer that included the No. 12 overall pick and a third-round selection, which was later upgraded to a second-rounder. The team reportedly went even further by presenting two first-round picks plus edge rusher Rashan Gary, whom Dallas had acquired in the offseason. Despite these substantial offers, no trade came to fruition.
If Dallas were to land Crosby, the impact on the defense could be substantial. The 29-year-old would bring elite pass-rushing prowess to a unit that has been seeking a disruptive presence. Crosby has established himself as one of the league’s premier defensive players, posting double-digit sacks in three of the last four seasons. In the most recent campaign, he played 15 games and tallied 73 total tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception.
With increased financial flexibility and a history of prioritizing Crosby, the Cowboys could again emerge as a major suitor. The central question remains whether the Raiders are willing to part with their standout defender at this time.
