Smith has spent nine seasons in the NFL, beginning with the Tennessee Titans for four years, then moving to the New England Patriots for two seasons, followed by stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins, and Pittsburgh Steelers, each lasting one season.
Pittsburgh Acquisition and Departure
The Steelers acquired Smith last offseason in a trade with the Miami Dolphins. In exchange, Pittsburgh sent draft picks and the safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami, and also received cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the deal. Smith appeared in all 17 games for the Steelers, recording 38 receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns. He was released by Pittsburgh in the offseason and has now signed with Green Bay to join Matt LaFleur’s offense.
Coaching Ties
LaFleur has previously coached Smith when LaFleur was the offensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans in 2018, before he became the Packers’ head coach in 2019. That season, Smith logged 20 receptions for 258 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games.
Career Totals
Over his career, Smith has compiled 345 receptions for 3,529 yards and 30 touchdowns in 141 games. He has earned one Pro Bowl selection, which came with the Dolphins in 2024, after posting 88 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns that season.
