Agreement in principle has reportedly been reached with the 21-year-old Spaniard, who has appeared for Spain at youth levels. The clubs are said to be negotiating the terms of the deal, with a shared ownership arrangement suggested as the most financially viable option for Sevilla. Gonzalez is under contract with Real Madrid until 2028, and the Spanish giants are keen to retain certain rights over the goalkeeper should he depart.
Gonzalez stands at 1.99 meters and played a key role for Real Madrid Castilla last season, helping the reserve side reach the Segunda División promotion play-offs, where they were eliminated by Sabadell. He made 28 appearances, conceding 39 goals and keeping three clean sheets. He also made his La Liga debut two seasons ago in a 2-1 loss to Valencia. Internationally, he has earned three caps for Spain Under-21s and has yet to concede a goal at that level.
Within Real Madrid, Gonzalez has long been regarded highly, with some within the club considering him an heir to Thibaut Courtois. Nevertheless, Sevilla appears prepared to push ahead, aiming to secure his development while maintaining some control over his future.
For now, Sevilla acknowledges ongoing negotiations and stresses that a final agreement is not yet in place. Club sources indicate that several issues still need resolution with Real Madrid, and that Gonzalez is not the sole goalkeeper under consideration as the negotiations continue.
If the transfer progresses, Gonzalez would become another prominent academy product to depart Real Madrid in pursuit of opportunities at the highest level.
