The signing ceremony took place at the Joan Gamper Sports City, with Campos accompanied by the Director of Youth Football, Jose Ramon Alexanco. Despite still being eligible to play at youth level next season, Campos has already established himself as a standout prospect within Barcelona’s academy system.
A breakthrough season has helped raise Campos’s profile. The 18-year-old center-back, naturally right-footed, enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2025/26, splitting time between the Juvenil A side and Barça Atlètic. Under Pol Planas, he made 22 appearances for Juvenil A, scoring twice, and also captained Spain’s Under-18 national team. His development earned him regular opportunities with Barça Atlètic under Juliano Belletti, where he featured in 14 Segunda Federación matches and became an increasingly important figure in the second half of the season.
Campos originally joined Barcelona’s youth setup after being spotted at Atletic Segre. He initially played as a midfielder before transitioning to central defense, a switch that has helped shape his current profile. He is noted for his comfort on the ball, passing ability, tactical understanding, athleticism, and physical strength, all of which have contributed to him becoming one of the club’s most highly regarded young defenders.
His progress has drawn attention from outside the club as well; he was invited to train with the first team in October 2024, an indication of the coaching staff’s ongoing interest in his development. While he has yet to make a senior debut, the coaching staff continue to monitor his progress closely.
Looking ahead, Campos is expected to play a significant role for Belletti’s Barça Atletic squad in the coming season, with promotion back to Primera Federación as a primary objective for the team.
