According to NFL reporting, Cowboys edge rusher Charles Snowden has been suspended for the first three games of the season. The suspension, per the NFL, will be in effect once the roster is cut to 53 players. Snowden signed a one-year, $1.075 million contract with the Cowboys on June 18.
Snowden previously faced legal issues, including a DUI arrest in Las Vegas in December 2024, for which he pleaded no contest in January 2026. The league’s disciplinary action cites a personal conduct violation related to that incident.
Snowden, standing 6-foot-6 and weighing around 250 pounds, emerged as a full-time starter for the Las Vegas Raiders in recent seasons, starting nine games in each of the last two years. During that span, he recorded 67 tackles, 4.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, and 11 quarterback hits. He entered the NFL as an undrafted player from the University of Virginia in 2022.
The situation places added emphasis on the Cowboys’ defensive depth as they prepare for the upcoming season. The team will likely evaluate current rotational players and potential additions to mitigate the absence of Snowden for the opening games.
