Among the quarterbacks in the rumored top 100, Lawrence sits below the 89 rating threshold despite delivering what many would consider the best season of his five-year career and guiding Jacksonville to the AFC South title. In the previous year, Lawrence passed for 4,007 yards and 29 touchdowns with 12 interceptions, in addition to rushing for 359 yards and nine rushing touchdowns, totaling a franchise-record 38 touchdowns overall. He was also named a finalist for both the Associated Press NFL MVP and Comeback Player of the Year awards, with the Jaguars noting he finished third in total touchdowns, sixth in passing yards, and tied for second in rushing touchdowns among quarterbacks.
Madden ratings aim to reflect individual traits rather than awards ballots, yet Lawrence’s 2025 resume makes an sub-89 overall rating difficult to justify.
