In the offseason, Mahomes has shown encouraging signs. He has participated in portions of the team’s workouts and made progress in his rehabilitation. His goal is to be ready for the start of the upcoming season, and indications suggest he’s on pace to reach that objective.
However, NFL insider Adam Schefter warns that regaining his previous level of play may be the bigger challenge. While Mahomes remains ahead of schedule in his rehab and appears likely to start the season for the Chiefs, returning to 100 percent form could prove difficult.
“The real question will be not whether he plays, but how effective he’ll be,” Schefter stated.
As Mahomes continues his recovery, all eyes will be on his durability, timing, and mobility once he returns to live game action. If he can regain his peak athleticism and restore his on-field performance, the Chiefs could remain a strong contender as they push for another championship run.
