There are strong indications that Marco Palestra is set to move to Chelsea, following a public statement attributed to the defender.
Reports claim Chelsea have agreed a £47 million transfer with Atalanta to sign Palestra, who is currently in London to undergo a medical ahead of a long-term contract through 2032.
Intermediaries and rival clubs had shown interest in the Italy international, but Palestra’s versatility appears to be a key factor. Chelsea’s management value his ability to contribute both in attack and on the left flank, with proficiency in crossing with either foot and a fluid ability to adapt across wide positions.
Marco Palestra’s first words after the move were shared by prominent transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, in which the player expressed happiness about joining Chelsea and enthusiasm for this new chapter.
According to reports, Palestra is due to arrive in London at Heathrow Airport and undergo medicals the following morning as Chelsea push to finalize the deal quickly.
If completed, the transfer would position Palestra as a new signing for Chelsea, with plans in place to address additional squad needs. The club is also believed to be evaluating further targets, should the Palestra move proceed as expected.
