Lions general manager Brad Holmes described Miller as a mature, high-character player whose year-by-year development shown on tape impressed him. Holmes noted Miller’s urgency and athleticism, emphasizing that a strength-improvement arc further bolsters the pick. He recalled evaluating Miller from ’23 onward and seeing a clear trajectory of growth through ’24 and into ’25.
Holmes said Miller’s progression made him a “perfect fit” for Detroit, adding that Miller’s consistency and work ethic contribute to a belief that he can contribute immediately while continuing to develop within the Lions’ system. The club’s leadership underscored Miller’s durability and steady approach as aligning with Detroit’s offensive-line needs.
Coach Dan Campbell echoed the enthusiasm, telling Miller that he would fit in with the team’s culture and competitive mindset. Campbell praised Miller’s durability and readiness to compete, noting that earning his place would be part of the process but that he already embodies the traits the Lions seek in their offensive linemen.
The Lions are set to host their 2026 rookie minicamp in early May, with dates tentatively scheduled for May 1–4 or May 8–11, providing Miller the first opportunity to begin transitioning from college standout to NFL professional in Detroit’s program.
