The Giants hosted Jones shortly after trading veteran interior defender Dexter Lawrence to the Cincinnati Bengals for the No. 10 overall pick, a development that created a vacancy along the defensive line two days before the draft.
Jones has 23 starts for the Dolphins from 2024-25, marking his second stint with Miami. He originally joined Miami as an undrafted free agent in 2020 and later spent time with the Detroit Lions before reuniting with the Dolphins in 2024.
In the 14 games he played last season, eight of them starts, Jones contributed 15 combined tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, one pass defended, and one quarterback hit.
The prior season, he posted 24 combined tackles and a career-best four tackles for loss in 17 games, tying a career high with 15 starts in 2024.
Jones’s visit to the Giants underscores ongoing NFC East interest in experienced interior-depth options as teams approach the draft, with New York evaluating options to replenish the defensive tackle position.
