Koepka entered Augusta National with a solid showing, finishing T12 and 5-under par, a performance that kept his RBC Heritage bid by the skin of his teeth.
Under the Returning Member Program, a late withdrawal would have likely added Koepka to the RBC Heritage lineup, with Keith Mitchell and Taylor Moore also in line to join the field; a caveat noted that a makeup start for a 2025 event winner could complicate the fill-in process.
As the tournament began, Koepka’s name did not appear on the RBC Heritage leaderboard, indicating he did not receive the late break he needed to compete.
Still, Koepka remained at Harbour Town during the opening round, waiting to see if any withdrawals could open a spot for him.
His schedule now points to the Zurich Classic in New Orleans, where he will team with Shane Lowry, replacing Rory McIlroy as Lowry’s partner in the stroke-play team event.
Back on the PGA Tour, Koepka has said he is enjoying life returning to regular competition and maintaining good relations with LIV golfers, even as rumors about LIV Golf’s status continue to swirl.
