Philadelphia’s roster outlook remains unchanged aside from Embiid. Tyrese Maxey is listed as available despite a right finger tendon sprain, and no other Sixers are noted on the injury report.
On the Boston side, Ron Harper Jr. is the only player listed, probable with a right ankle sprain. The Celtics are otherwise at full strength heading into Game 2.
Head coach Nick Nurse addressed the game’s blowout in a candid postgame assessment, acknowledging multiple miscues that set the tone early. “A lot went wrong, that’s for sure,” he said, noting early foul trouble for the bigs and a rough start overall.
Nurse also pointed to concrete areas for improvement in Game 2: limiting transition opportunities for Boston, reducing live-ball turnovers, and generating more three-point attempts and makeables. “We certainly can’t give up that much in transition,” he stressed, and he emphasized the need to take care of the ball and to create more looks from beyond the arc.
If the Sixers can address those issues and capitalize on Embiid’s absence for now, they could steal a road win in Game 2. Failing that, the rematch could resemble Game 1, with Philadelphia chasing a more favorable outcome in the series.
