Ward’s addition provides an extra outfield option as Los Angeles navigates Freeman’s temporary absence.
Sunday afternoon’s game in Denver will continue the Dodgers-Rockies series, with Los Angeles aiming to rebound after the tight defeat.
Freeman’s status is expected to be temporary, and the team will monitor his return as the series progresses.
