NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that Allar will be at the Steelers’ facility for the final day of visits, part of a spring run that has included most of the draft’s top quarterback prospects.
Allar posted 63.2% passing for 7.4 yards per attempt over 45 college games, with 3,327 yards, 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions in his junior season as Penn State reached the CFP semifinals. He appeared in only six games last season due to an ankle injury. The Ohio native hails from Medina, about two hours from Pittsburgh, and played college football in Pennsylvania.
This visit marks Allar as the fourth quarterback to meet with Pittsburgh this spring, joining Miami’s Carson Beck, North Dakota State’s Cole Payton and Arkansas’ Taylen Green on the Steelers’ pre-draft itinerary.
The quarterback chatter around Allar includes varying projections: ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranked him as the No. 4 quarterback in the 2026 class, while NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein suggested he projects as a potential fourth-round selection, noting a mix of high-end traits with concerns about consistency in big moments and mechanics.
With the 2026 draft class broadly viewed as weaker at the quarterback position, Pittsburgh continues to evaluate Allar and other signal-callers as part of its plans, especially as Rodgers’ future with the team and league factors into decision-making on the roster.
