More recently, the Cowboys were discussed as a potential landing spot for Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett, should Cleveland consider trading him.

ESPN insider Dan Graziano offered an update that shifts the landscape: he believes a new contract for Garrett with Cleveland is more likely than a trade. This perspective aligns with the Browns’ history of prioritizing Garrett as a long-term cornerstone.
Garrett’s value to Dallas is clear on paper. The 30-year-old veteran posted a standout season with 23 sacks and 60 tackles across 17 games, continuing a career marked by elite production and pedigree at a premier position. A trade would instantly vault Dallas back into Super Bowl contention by accelerating the pass-rushing impact around their defense.
However, current signals suggest the Cowboys face long odds in acquiring Garrett unless Cleveland changes course or signals openness to a move. While a blockbuster swap remains a tantalizing possibility, it appears less likely than a contract extension that would keep Garrett in Cleveland—and out of Dallas—at this point.
If circumstances shift and Garrett is placed on the trade block, Dallas would be positioned as a compelling destination given its window to contend and the need to upgrade pressure production. Until then, the dream trade scenario for Garrett remains a topic of strong interest, but not a near-term reality.
