Rasool spent 2025 with the Las Vegas Raiders as a defensive quality-control coach after a career coaching defensive backs at Florida, Bowling Green State, Arizona, Missouri, and other programs. A Tucson native, he began coaching in 2008 after two years at Eastern Arizona College and worked at Arizona high schools and junior colleges before breaking into the NFL.
The move comes after the Eagles’ current DBs coach, Christian Parker, left for the Dallas Cowboys, with Mike Pellegrino stepping in as the replacement. Rasool’s hire fills multiple needs as Philadelphia continues to emphasize a strong passing defense.
Rasool has built a diverse coaching résumé, including a significant stint under Bowling Green head coach Scot Loeffler, who subsequently praised Rasool’s energy and knowledge. Loeffler, now the Eagles quarterbacks coach, previously hired Rasool as Falcons cornerbacks coach and special-teams assistant in 2023.
In 2023, Rasool’s Bowling Green defense excelled in interceptions and pass defense, a benchmark that underscores his fit for a secondary-focused role with Philadelphia. The Eagles finished 2025 with a top-10 pass defense, highlighting the importance of experienced coaching in the secondary.
Rasool’s track record spans Power Five programs, junior colleges, and the NFL, giving him a broad perspective on developing defensive backs. His breadth of experience is expected to complement the Eagles’ existing scheme and help sustain their strong pass-defense metrics.
Overall, Rasool’s addition signals Philadelphia’s commitment to depth and expertise in the defensive backfield, aiming to maintain their competitive edge in a passing-heavy NFL landscape.
