NBC Sports Boston’s Phil Perry predicts New England will draft Texas A&M receiver Kevin Concepcion with the 31st overall pick, highlighting him as a dynamic playmaker who could stretch the field for a developing offense led by quarterback Drake Maye.
Concepcion enjoyed a breakout seasonfor the Aggies, posting 61 receptions for 919 yards and nine touchdowns, while averaging 15.1 yards per catch. He delivered big-time performances, including seven-catch games for 113 yards against Auburn and 158 yards on seven receptions versus South Carolina, with multiple games featuring multiple touchdowns.
Beyond receiving, Concepcion also contributed as a return specialist, leading the SEC in punt return yards (460) and contributing as a kickoff returner (14 returns for 346 yards, 24.7-yard average). His versatility was recognized with the 2025 Paul Hornung Award and first-team All-America, All-SEC wide receiver, return specialist, and all-purpose selections.
Perry argues that Concepcion would add explosiveness, separation, and versatility to a Patriots offense that already features growing receiver depth, including Stefon Diggs and players such as Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte, and Demario Douglas. With Diggs approaching his 30s, drafting a younger playmaker could help New England develop long-term, while also providing an immediate impact as a complementary weapon for quarterback Maye.
The analysis positions Concepcion as a potential game-changer for Josh McDaniels’ offense, offering the Patriots additional quickness and field-stretching threat while contributing on special teams. New England’s wide receiver room has shown production, but Perry believes Concepcion would be a solid foundational add to support Maye and the team’s evolving offense.
