ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Orr, a former undrafted free agent from North Texas who played 2014-16 with Baltimore, will join Seattle after spending 2024-25 as Baltimore’s DC. Orr previously coached inside linebackers for the Ravens in 2022–23 and will now work with the position group he both played and coached in Baltimore.
The move continues Seattle’s staff reshaping under Macdonald, who was Baltimore’s DC before taking the Seahawks’ head coaching job in 2024. Orr interviewed for multiple defensive coordinator openings, including a reported bid with the Raiders, but elected to join Seattle and reunite with his former coordinator.
Baltimore’s defensive success under Orr included leading the league in rush defense (80.1 yards per game) and top-3 rankings in sacks, quarterback hits, and yards per play during his first season as DC in 2024. After the 2024 season, Orr’s promotion came amid broader changes in Baltimore’s coaching staff.
Additional Seattle staffing notes include the expected addition of former Ravens staffer Daniel Stern in a pass-game strategy role. The Seahawks are also assessing internal candidates for offensive coordination as they continue to fill the vacancy left by Klint Kubiak’s departure.
