Teammate Ja’Marr Chase was surprised by Burrow’s comments, joking that he thought the remarks might be AI: “I thought this was an AI— did this really happen, though? Is that real?” The moment added to the offseason chatter surrounding the franchise.
Chase announced a career-facing move off the field in partnership with Overtime: a podcast titled Chasing No. 1. He explained the meaning behind the name, saying, “Although I strive for greatness, I’m chasing no one,” and teased that it would reveal a different side of him beyond his on-field persona.
The podcast will feature Tee Higgins as the co-host, chosen by Chase and described as a close friend. Higgins told Kay Adams that the project would showcase a side of the duo that fans don’t often see, discussing interests beyond football and how they approach life off the field.
Chasing No. 1 will explore sports, pop culture, fashion, and personal hobbies, with the first episode slated to drop in the spring though an exact date has not been announced.
As a duo, Chase and Higgins have long been among the NFL’s top receiving tandems since 2021, but injuries over the past three seasons have limited their production. Chase captured the receiving triple crown in 2024, while Higgins earned his first Pro Bowl appearance. The pair extended their contracts with Cincinnati ahead of the season, and when Burrow was healthy, the Bengals posted a 4-2 record; 2025 marked the only losing-season campaign for the duo together.
