Bevell is a longtime NFL assistant with more than three decades of coaching experience. He spent the past four seasons as the Miami Dolphins’ quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, and he previously won a Super Bowl as Seattle’s offensive coordinator in 2014.
His career path also includes time with Green Bay as an assistant quarterbacks coach and later quarterbacks coach, and he served as offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings before taking the OC role with the Seahawks from 2011 to 2017, where he met Canales.
Carolina has not announced any other coaching changes this offseason, and Bevell will join the staff to help elevate the Panthers’ offense.
Bevell’s background as a quarterback coach positions him to work closely with Bryce Young, who threw for 3,011 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2025. The Panthers also feature standout rookie Tetairoa McMillan, who posted 70 receptions for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns and was cited as Offensive Rookie of the Year by sources in the report.
With Bevell’s wide-ranging experience across multiple offensive schemes, he will be tasked with helping Carolina’s scoring offense improve and aiding Young’s continued development.
Overall, Bevell’s addition signals a strategic emphasis on experienced quarterback coaching and offensive coordination as the Panthers pursue a higher ceiling in 2026.
