Pearce faces two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon (domestic), aggravated stalking (domestic), fleeing and eluding police officers, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, and resisting an officer without violence. He also received traffic citations for reckless driving with damage to a person or property, operating on the wrong side of the road, and fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer.
The 20,500-dollar bond was posted, and a pretrial conditional stay-away order was issued against Pearce in relation to Jackson.
According to ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Jackson’s attorneys filed a notice with the Miami-Dade County court indicating she is willing to testify if the domestic violence charges proceed to trial, while urging the matter be concluded promptly to aid the prosecution’s case.
The police affidavit describes Jackson, Pearce’s ex-girlfriend of nearly three years, reporting that he followed her, attempted to open her driver’s door at a red light, and rammed her Lamborghini to block her reach to a police station. Officers observed Pearce outside the SUV; he allegedly fled as they attempted to detain him, striking an officer with the vehicle and later fleeing on foot.
Pearce’s legal team has publicly maintained his innocence, with attorney Jacob Nunez stating Pearce will vigorously defend himself and continue contributing positively to his team and community. The NFL has been briefed and is expected to review the matter under the league’s personal conduct policy as it progresses.
