Walker finished with 135 rushing yards on 27 carries and added 26 receiving yards on two catches. He became the first running back to win Super Bowl MVP since Terrell Davis in Super Bowl XXXII (1997), and his 135 rushing yards were the most in a Super Bowl since Davis.
Walker was drafted by Seattle in the 2022 NFL Draft, the 41st overall pick in the second round, out of Michigan State. Under head coach Mike Macdonald in 2024, the back has emerged as a cornerstone of Seattle’s offense.
After the NFC Championship win over the Rams, Walker emphasized the team’s balance: “We’re hard to stop when everybody’s clicking,” praising the line, receivers, running backs, and tight ends, and adding, “He’s been great the whole season. We trust him. He’s a great leader and he’s a great person off the field.”
On the field after the Super Bowl, Walker summed up the moment in five words: “It’s a dream come true,” underscoring the significance of the title run.
Defensive back Devon Witherspoon called the win “crazy” and “a one-of-a-kind feeling.” Team owner Jody Allen labeled the season “magical” during the trophy ceremony, thanking the coach, players, and the 12s, Seattle’s faithful fan base.
