This hiring marks the first major addition for new Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur, who was introduced earlier this week at the team’s facility. LaFleur, who arrived in Arizona after three seasons as the Los Angeles Rams’ offensive coordinator, has said he plans to be the team’s primary play-caller.
Hackett, 46, previously served as the Green Bay Packers’ offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2021 under Matt LaFleur, Mike LaFleur’s brother. During that stretch, quarterback Aaron Rodgers won back-to-back MVP honors in 2020 and 2021.
His résumé also includes offensive coordinating roles with the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets. Hackett was the Denver Broncos’ head coach in 2022, finishing 4-11 before being dismissed late in the season.
Most recently, Hackett was the Miami Dolphins’ quarterbacks coach before this move to the Cardinals, and he later worked for Matt LaFleur and the Packers in 2025 as a defensive analyst.
