A 2022 first-round pick, Lloyd initially struggled to fit the previous regime’s scheme, leading to his fifth-year option being declined. Since Liam Coen took over and Anthony Campanile installed as defensive coordinator, Lloyd has blossomed, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro recognition this season.
In 2025, Lloyd totaled 81 tackles with five interceptions (including a pick-six), seven passes defended, six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. With free agency approaching, the Jaguars could technically place the franchise tag, but the projected $28.8 million price tag for 2026 makes an extension the more likely path if a deal can be reached.
Lloyd stressed his belief that he can excel in any defense, noting that new coaches put him in positions to maximize his skill set and that his personal preparation—nutrition, sleep and daily readiness—has been key to his improved play.
“I want to be where God wants me to be,” Lloyd said. “Being back in Jacksonville has its pros—family nearby and support—so, for me, it’s about being in the right spot.” He remains open to a future elsewhere if a fit isn’t possible, but his preference is to stay with the Jaguars if the terms work.
The Jaguars’ plan for Lloyd’s future hinges on extending him before the league’s deadline. If a deal isn’t reached, he’s prepared to explore other opportunities, but right now the focus is on finding a long-term home in Jacksonville where he has found both on-field success and personal stability.
