With the Seahawks awaiting in Levi’s Stadium on February 8, the Patriots’ message is clear: they are focused on winning the Super Bowl. “We are going to the Super Bowl to win the Super Bowl,” backup quarterback Tommy DeVito told Fox News Digital, reinforcing the team’s intent beyond simply reaching the big game.
Only five players on the current Patriots roster have ever played in a Super Bowl: Carlton Davis III, Christian Elliss, Mack Hollins, Austin Hooper and Milton Williams. The rest are hungry for their first championship, including DeVito, who is embracing a larger role as the season culminates.
DeVito’s path to Foxborough began with the New York Giants, where injuries to Daniel Jones thrust him into action in 2023–24. He later joined the Patriots’ quarterbacks room after the Giants added Jaxson Dart, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, and he understands the pedigree of a Super Bowl-winning franchise in New England—home to Lombardi trophies won by teams that didn’t always find the road easy.
The Patriots’ playoff run has drawn attention for its tough opposition, including three top-five defenses and an on-the-road AFC Championship against the No. 1-seeded Broncos. DeVito acknowledged the chatter about an “easy” path but argued that winning in the NFL—especially on the road—remains challenging, regardless of the opponent.
Off the field, DeVito has been part of Progressive’s Backup campaign, surprising a fan with a lemonade stand in frigid Boston. He calls Progressive a great partner, and the team remains focused on one goal: to go 1-0 in the season’s final game on February 8 in Levi’s Stadium.
