Dart’s post on X explained that “SZN 1 is done but still passing on blessings,” and highlighted that Schacher spent more than 25 years in the Navy. As part of the gift, Schacher will attend the Super Bowl and participate in in-person activities with Dart and other NFL legends, including a pregame meet-and-greet.
Schacher’s background is detailed in a joint USAA/The American Legion release: he served 26 years in the U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves (1980–2006) and retired as E7 Chief Petty Officer. His career included roles as a Gunner’s Mate and Small Arms Instructor, deployments to Fallujah, Iraq, and various assignments both in the U.S. and abroad, and later service with the Navy Seabees.
The donation is part of the Salute to Service initiative, with Dart emphasizing his desire to honor those who have served and whose sacrifices enable NFL fans to enjoy Sundays. He noted his own military-family ties and expressed pride in recognizing a deserving veteran and NFL fan through this experience.
According to the post, Schacher will attend Super Bowl LX, which the message frames as Seahawks vs. Patriots. The veteran and his wife Laurie will meet Dart and other NFL figures at the USAA Salute to Service Lounge before taking in the game, marking a first-time Super Bowl trip for Schacher.
