Grizzard was fired after one season as Tampa Bay’s offensive coordinator earlier this month, part of a broader shake-up for the Buccaneers’ staff.
The move comes as the defending Super Bowl champions parted ways with their offensive coordinator, Kevin Patullo, after a season that ended with a home loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Wild Card Round.
Grizzard began the season as one of the NFL’s buzzed-about assistants, with talk that he could be a head coaching candidate following a 5-1 start.
Injuries and challenges adapting the offense to the available personnel contributed to Tampa Bay’s late-season slide, as the Buccaneers dropped seven of their final nine games and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
Tampa Bay Times NFL reporter Rick Stroud described Grizzard as “a bit of a scapegoat for the 8-9 season,” noting that he’s headed to Philadelphia for a fresh start as the pass game coordinator.
The Eagles’ hire signals a continued focus on strengthening the passing game under a new offensive plan in 2026, with Grizzard joining Mannion to help shape Philadelphia’s offense after their recent title run.
