ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Webb, who is 31, withdrew from consideration for the Raiders’ head coaching opening on Thursday. The development comes as Webb had been connected to the Raiders as well as other teams during the cycle.
According to Schefter, the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens were the only other franchises Webb interviewed with for a head coaching role, and those teams have since filled their openings.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network noted that Webb is viewed as a prime candidate for the Broncos’ offensive coordinator position, following head coach Sean Payton’s decision to move on from Joe Lombardi after Denver’s loss in the AFC Championship Round.
Rapoport also reported that Webb plans to withdraw from the Raiders’ head coaching search and has already received several OC inquiries, underscoring his standing as a sought-after coach within Payton’s framework in Denver.
Webb’s NFL career began as a backup quarterback from 2017 to 2022, after which he shifted to coaching with the Broncos. He joined Denver as QB coach when Sean Payton arrived in 2023, later adding the role of passing game coordinator while continuing to coach Bo Nix, ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
The summary of Webb’s status originates from Schefter and Rapoport, with the Associated reporting posted by ClutchPoints. The Raiders’ head coach search is expected to continue, and further updates on Webb’s role are anticipated.
